For producing this adhesive, cellulose is first extracted from wood or cotton.
It is then treated with alkali.
Besides being used as an adhesive, it is also used as a thickening agent. It
is not suitable for wall coverings requiring great holding power.
Wheat flour is used for making wheat paste. Wheat flour is first cooked in a manufacturing unit, dried and mixed with a few ingredients. This powder is then mixed with lukewarm water, stirring while mixing, to form wheat paste. This paste is not much in use now.
It is meant for commercial use. It's a trademark of Roman Decorating Products. It is used mainly where already existing vinyl covering is to be redecorated with a new one.
This adhesive is based in both natural polymers as well as synthetic polymers. It can be used with the widest range of wall coverings
It is made up of clay, dextrin and cellulose. Few other ingredients are also added. It was developed with an idea to install vinyl wall coverings.
